Our
Story

The Camden Food Partnership

The Camden Food Partnership (CFP), formally known as the Camden Food Poverty Alliance, was established in July 2020 to help improve food security for people who live in Camden. We are made up of the Camden Food Partnership Steering Group and a wider group of voluntary and community sector partners.

The cost-of-living crisis means that more people than ever need the support of the Camden Food Partnership. We aim to make sure everyone in Camden has easy and reliable access to affordable, nutritious food every day.

In 2024, the CFP was recognised as a Sustainable Food Place. We have joined over 100 pioneering food partnerships, cities, boroughs and countries across the UK. Together, we aim to drive innovation and best practice on all aspects of healthy and sustainable food by considering a "systems approach". We continue to promote collaborative action between policy makers, businesses and civil society at the local level, supported by the SFP network.

Our Network Activities

The Camden Food Partnership regularly meet to share knowledge, challenges and offer support. Throughout the year, we host open discussions, forums and workshop events to collaborate on our action plan and present our progress.

Our online open discussion meetings take place every 6 weeks and offer a space for partnership members to share updates, advice and challenges they're facing. These are great for anyone who wishes to drop-in and reach out to fellow members.

Steering Group members are invited to bi-monthly meetings to discuss the partnership's action plan and our progress.

Partnership members also receive regular updates via the newsletter and Rise Up mailing list. Please get in touch to find out more!

Our Aims

The Camden Food Partnership Steering Group is a working group comprising a core set of members of the network. Its job is to sculpt the work that we do and set out our future strategy.

The aim of the CFP Steering Group is to:

  • Put into action the ideas that are agreed upon during network discussions.

  • Link our work to the Camden Food Action Plan, to make sure we’re heading in the right direction.

  • Make sure that volunteers, Camden residents, and our partners in the community are represented.

  • Develop relationships with decision-makers who can support our work, both in and outside Camden Council.

  • Decide the structure and content of our regular Summit Meetings.
